The AML HORSE CONDITIONING

SYSTEM

Know What To Work On - And Why!

A practical conditioning system to help you develop a stronger, more balanced horse - and become a more knowledgeable rider along the way.

The AML Horse Conditioning System brings together 30 years of coaching and training experience to teach you how to develop balance, straightness, mobility, core strength, topline and fitness through progressive, purposeful training.

No random exercises.

No trying to work out what you should be doing each time you ride.

Just good, progressive horse training - explained in a way that makes sense.

What Members Are Saying…

Kirralee - farmer, horse trainer, mum of three little kids... basically superwoman to juggle life as she does!

Kirralee - farmer, horse trainer and mum of 3 littles.. basically “Wonder Woman!”

Q. - Has this membership helped you create a training schedule and stay motivated?

A. - “Yes! I followed what you said, I checked the weather, looked at what days I could ride, which was Sunday, Monday, Tuesday before the storms and I planned what to train each day. I made myself stick to my plan and Squirt is going so much better.”

Yvonne - middle aged trail rider aiming for her first grade 5 dressage test on her Standardbred Squirt.

“I’m enjoying the new material going up.”

Carly - adult rider with limited access to qualified coaching wanting more direction in getting her horse strong and fit.

Does Your Training Sometimes Feel A Little Random?

🔹 Most riders I meet genuinely want to do the best they can for their horses.

🔹 The problem isn’t a lack of effort.

🔹 It’s knowing what to work on, why you’re working on it, and what should come next.

🔹 Perhaps you recognise some of this.

🔹 Your horse feels noticeably different on one rein?

🔹 You know they need to become stronger, but you’re not quite sure which exercises will help?

🔹 You’d like to improve their topline and self-carriage without simply riding more?

🔹 You save pole exercises and training ideas but aren’t always sure whether they’re appropriate for ‘your’ horse?

🔹 You have a great lesson - then a few days later you’re back in the arena wondering what you should work on?

🔹 Or maybe you simply want more structure and purpose to your training?

🔹 If so, you’re certainly not alone.

🔹 After coaching thousands of riders over the past 30 years, I’ve realised something…….

🔹 Most riders don’t need more exercises!!!

🔹 They need to understand what their horse needs - and have a plan for developing it.

👉 That’s why I created the AML Horse Conditioning System.

Good Conditioning Is More Than Getting A Horse Fit

When I assess a horse, I’m not simply looking at how many minutes they can trot or canter.

I’m looking at the foundations underneath their performance.

Rhythm

Response to the aids

Balance

Straightness

Mobility

Core strength

Fitness

These qualities are connected.

If the foundations aren’t there, simply asking the horse to work harder doesn’t necessarily make them stronger.

Sometimes we need to back and improve the ‘quality’ of the work first.

The AML Horse Conditioning System teaches you how.

This Isn’t A Library Of Random Exercises

There are thousands of horse exercises available online.

That’s not what I wanted to create.

I want you to understand WHY you’re using an exercise.

What are we trying to change?

What should you feel?

What should you be watching for?

When should you make the exercise easier?

When is your horse ready to progress?

And what might your horse’s response be telling you about a weakness elsewhere?

The membership combines:

Flatwork

Polework

Groundwork

Biomechanics

Strength and mobility work

Cardiovascular conditioning

But the exercises themselves aren’t really the point.

The goal is to teach you to look at your horse differently.

Because once you understand what you’re seeing and feeling, you can make much better decisions about their training.

The Coaching Between Your Lessons

I believe enormously in good coaching.

This membership isn’t designed to replace it.

But most of us don’t have a coach standing beside the arena every time we ride.

You might have a lesson once a week.

Once a fortnight.

Once a month.

Or perhaps access to experienced coaching is limited where you live.

The AML Horse Conditioning System fills the space between those lessons.

So when you walk into the arena on Tuesday afternoon, you’re not simply riding around wondering what to do.

You have purpose.

You understand what you’re trying to improve.

And you have exercises to help you work on it.

Your lesson might identify what needs work.

AML helps you work on it!

What Progressive Conditioning Can Look Like

Ruby — Thoroughbred mare. Same horse, 12 months apart.

There wasn’t one magic exercise behind Ruby’s development.

Her body changed through consistent, progressive training that addressed the foundations — balance, straightness, mobility, core strength, topline and gradually increasing the physical demands as she became stronger.

That’s an important part of my philosophy.

We don’t train a topline. We train the horse in a way that allows the topline to develop.

And we don’t chase quick transformations.

We build the foundations that allow the horse’s body to become stronger over time.

What Does The Training Actually Look Like?

Every section of the membership has a purpose.

Rather than simply giving you something new to ride each week, I explain what we’re developing and how the exercises fit into the bigger picture.

For example, a training focus might include:

STRAIGHTNESS + CORE STRENGTH

Flatwork

Assessing left/right symmetry, rhythm and response to your aids.

Polework

A targeted exercise designed to regulate rhythm, improve accuracy and encourage greater engagement through the horse’s body.

Conditioning

Groundwork, hills, intervals or ridden exercises selected according to the horse’s current level.

And throughout the training I’ll explain:

What we’re training

Why we’re training it

What you should feel

What to watch for

Common mistakes

How to make the exercise easier

How to scale it up

Because I don’t just want you to copy an exercise.

I want you to understand it!!

Below is one of the first videos in the list of video demonstrations. Yes I take you right back to the basics…

IF we are to train balanced horses… we NEED to be balanced riders!

Real Horses. Real Riders. Real Life!

The membership isn’t built around perfect riders on perfectly trained horses.

It’s for ordinary horse owners, fitting their training around work, families, weather, facilities and everything else life throws at us.

Whether you’re a parent juggling work, kids and slices of time to train your team of Arabians for competition like Kirralee — OR semi-retired, living rural and needing to plan your rides around the weather on a Standardbred aiming for your first grade 5 dressage competition, like Yvonne…. This membership can help you..

Completely different riders!

Completely different horses!

SAME FOUNDATIONS

Who Is The AML Horse Conditioning System For?

I’ve deliberately designed the membership so the principles can be applied across all breeds and disciplines.

It may be particularly useful if:

  • You’re training your own horse and would like more guidance

  • You want to improve your horse’s strength, balance, straightness, mobility or topline

  • Your horse feels different from one rein to the other

  • You’re bringing a horse back into work and want a progressive approach alongside appropriate professional guidance

  • You want more structure between coaching sessions

  • You have limited access to experienced coaching

  • You’re an experienced rider who wants more variety and purpose in your conditioning work

  • You simply want to understand your horse’s body and training better

    Dressage Horse

    Showjumper

    Eventer

    Trail Horse

    Pony Club Mount

    Standardbred

    Thoroughbred

    Warmblood

The discipline may change. The breed may vary.

Good foundations don’t!

What You’ll Find Inside

Progressive Training Library

A growing collection of structured training covering flatwork, polework, groundwork, biomechanics, mobility, strength and cardiovascular conditioning.

Detailed Video Tutorials

I demonstrate and explain exercises using real horses at different stages of training.

I deliberately don’t only use polished, highly educated horses.

I think there’s far more value in seeing what an exercise looks like while a horse is actually learning.

Monthly Live Q&A With Me

Bring your questions

Something isn’t working?

You’re unsure how to adapt an exercise?

Your horse is finding something difficult?

Ask!

These sessions are also an opportunity to learn from the questions and experiences of other members.

Weekly Member Video Review

Each week, one member has the opportunity to submit schooling footage for me to review. The member is drawn from a digital random competition selector from the pool of names signed up to the system.

I’ll talk through what I’m seeing and suggest areas of exercises that may help.

This is done for you privately, for only your eyes and giving you the ability to ask me questions directly related to your own training.

A Supportive Community

👉 No judgement

👉 No expectation that you or your horse should already know everything

👉 Just riders trying to learn more and do a good job with the horses they have.

Member Training Program Draw

Each month, one member wins a personalised four-week training and mentoring program with me.

It’s a lovely extra opportunity for me to work more closely with one horse and rider — but it isn’t the reason you join.

The value of the membership is in what you learn every week.

Meet Amanda

This is ‘me’… Amanda Lewer presenting at Equitana Melbourne a few years ago. I was asked by Equitana, a few years in a row, to be part of their ‘Educator’ demonstrators to show people how to use polework with purpose in their every day training schedules.

If you have made it this far down the page, “Hello and welcome!” I’m not a fan of talking about myself this way but apparently people need to know about me if they’re going to trust me in helping them with their training! So… here goes…

I’m Amanda Lewer, founder of AML Equestrian Coaching and everything created under the AML brand.

The photo above was an occasion where it really hit home how I had a responsibility to share my knowledge more widely. I was so chuffed to be invited to present at Equitana, next to some of the biggest names in the industry… I didn’t really think little old me… small time trainer, breaker and coach… would draw much of a crowd. BUT I had people travel from hours away — just to watch my demonstration! Question time went on for an hour and so many people hired me to write training programs for them, pinpointing specific foundational weaknesses. It was humbling at the least.

I’ve spent about 30 years coaching riders and training their horses.

During that time I’ve coached more than 16,000 riders and worked with thousands of horses across different breeds, disciplines and levels of education.

And those horses have taught me just as much as the riders have.

I’ve seen the same training gaps appear again and again:

A lack of straightness.

Poor rhythm.

Weakness through the core.

Difficulty maintaining balance.

Riders trying harder when the horse actually needs the exercise made simpler.

Horses being asked for more when the foundations underneath the movement aren’t quite established yet.

Over time, that experience has shaped the way I train.

I don’t believe in complicated training for the sake of it.

I believe in good foundations, progressive exercises and helping riders understand the horse underneath them. Every horse. Every breed. Every discipline.

That’s what I’m putting into this membership.

How Much Time Do I Need?

You don’t need to ride six days a week.

And I don’t want the membership becoming another thing you feel guilty about not keeping up with.

Some members ride three times a week.

Others ride five or six.

Some have an arena.

Some don’t.

Some are ambitious competition riders.

Others simply want their horse to feel stronger and better in their body.

I’ll teach you how to take the principles and adapt the to your horse, your facilities and the time you genuinely have available.

Consistency matters.

Perfection doesn’t!

Your Questions, Answered!

🔹I'm a beginner — will I be able to follow it? 👉 Absolutely. Every exercise includes an HD video tutorial demonstrated with horses at different levels, including less educated horses. The community is non-judgemental and welcoming to all levels.

🔹 My horse is older — is it too late? 👉 Not at all. Older horses benefit the most from targeted conditioning. The exercises are low-impact and adaptable. Some of the best transformations have been with horses in their late teens and twenties.

🔹 I don't have an arena or poles — can I still do it? 👉 Yes. Most exercises can be adapted with cones, ground markers, or even fence lines. And you can ask Amanda directly in the monthly Q&A how to adapt exercises for your setup.

🔹 Can I switch plans later? 👉 Definitely. You can switch between weekly and monthly billing anytime from your account.

🔹 Can I cancel at any time? 👉 Yes. Cancel whenever you want — no questions, no fees. You keep access through the end of your current billing cycle and keep everything you've learned.

🔹 How does the $2000 monthly prize draw work? 👉 Every active member is automatically entered every month. One member wins a personalised 4-week training program tailored to their horse's individual needs — valued at $2000. The winner is announced via email and in social media.

🔹 Are new courses or resources added regularly? 👉 Yes. The library grows every week, with new content unlocking from the launch date of 27th July 2026. You're always getting fresh, progressive training to keep you and your horse moving forward.

One Last Thought Before You Join

You know your horse better than anyone.

You know when something doesn’t quite feel right.

You know when one rein feels different.

You know when an exercise suddenly makes your horse feel better.

What I want to help you develop is the knowledge to understand why!

Because becoming a better horse person isn’t about collecting more exercises.

It’s about learning to recognise what the horse underneath you ‘needs’.

And knowing what to do next.
